Hobo Burgers! At home or Camping!

Hobo Burgers is one of our FAVORITE things to eat when we go camping! One night a couple years ago I was telling my hubby I wish we were camping so we could have Hobo Burgers! He said why not try them in the over and I did!!!

So I know your asking your self what is a Hobo Burger? I know it may not sound appetizing but it is! I am not sure where the name came from we have always called them that!

So tonight for Dinner we are having Hobo Burgers and Broccoli! (Its in the oven now!)

What do you need?:
Tin foil
Ground Beef
Potatoes (1 potato per burger)
Onion sliced (this time I used my freeze dried onions from Thrive Life!!!)
Shredded Cheese
Garlic Salt
Pepper

You start with some tinfoil. The in the middle put slices of half a potato, the some sliced onion (or in my case freeze dried onion). Sprinkle a little Garlic Salt and pepper.
Then add your hamburger patty on top! Sprinkle with more Garlic Salt and Pepper.
Top with cheese!
Add the rest of the sliced potatoes, and more onion. Sprinkle more garlic salt and pepper.
Bring the two short sides together at the top and roll it down tight!
Then roll both sides in tight!
At this point when your camping you just through it right into the fire!!! Let it cook for about 20 minutes but always open it and check to make sure the burger is cooked throughout!

But if your cooking at home cook it for 30-45 minutes on 475 degrees! I always line a pan with foil and line the burgers up on the pan like so. (in this picture you can see a BIG pack too that is my broccoli)

The Broccoli!!

Pretty simple just cut your broccoli up and lay it on two pieces of foil criss-crossed. Cut butter up into cubes and scatter around top. Then sprinkle with garlic salt! Cook it right along side your Hobo Burgers!!

This is so much fun to make! You can even get the kids to help you! Make an assembly line and each person takes a layer! Plus the great thing is everyone grabs a pack and gobbles it up!!!

So who is going to try Hobo Burgers on there next camping trip?! Or maybe for dinner this week?!!
